Know all men by these presents, that we A. B. Norman & Clementina [sic] Norman, & Esther Norman, of the county of Tattnall and state aforesaid, have made, constituted and appointed, and by these presents do make, constitute and appoint, James M. Norman, of the county of Appling and state aforesaid, our true and lawful attorney, for us, and in our names, but for his own proper use, benefit and behoof [sic], to ask, and demand, to sell and deliver all our parts land lying in the county of Liberty and state aforesaid, lying near the Desert [?] containing four hundred acres, more or less.
We do hereby authorize and empower him our said attorney, for us, and in our names to take all payments, and make all lawful titles that may be demanded, or as our said attorney thinks most advisable; hereby satisfying and _____ [unreadable word, then five words scratched out: "allowing whatever our said attorney"] may lawfully do in the premises, fully and effectually as if we ourselves were there present. -- In testimony whereof we have set our hands and seals this the 2 day of February 1822.
