This Indinture [sic], make this second day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty [02 Oct 1830], between Joseph F. McGowen, of the State and county aforesaid, of the one part, and Mary W. Norman, executrix of the last will and testament of Jos. Norman, decd. of the same state and county, of the other part,
Witnesseth, that the said Joseph F. McGowen, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars, to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Mary W. [sic] the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, Hath bargained, sold and conveyed, and both by these presents bargain, sell and convey, unto the said Mary W. Norman, executrix of said estate, for the use and benefit of the heirs of said estate, to them, their heirs and assigns forever, a certain lot of land containing one hundred acres, more or less, situate, lying and being in the county aforesaid on the Sand Hills in said county (being part of a tract of land, originally granted to Richard Norman and now owned by the said Jos. F. McGowen) bounded on the North and South by the above named tract of land, on the East by Est. Saml. Lewis' land, and on the West by Thos. Bacon's & R. S. Baker's land. To have and to hold the said bargained premises, with their privileges and appurtenances, to the said Mary W. in behalf of said estate, their heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph F. McGowen doth covenant with the said Mary W. to relinquish all right, title, claim or interest whatever to the within named premises.
